Rick Davis is the driving force behind DAVACO Sourcing. He is responsible for strategic development, growth management, corporate planning, and aligning strategic partnerships to create a global presence.
DAVACO Sourcing is a sister company to DAVACO, Inc., the leading provider of retail, restaurant and hospitality services. The sourcing and procurement platform evolved from the need to better serve DAVACO's clients. The success of the platform has resulted in the growth and expansion of the company to serve industries beyond their retail domain expertise. Proprietary technology, realtime online reverse auction features and a vast network of qualified suppliers worldwide differentiate this global sourcing and procurement platform.
Mr. Davis founded the company in 1990 and is the Chief Executive Officer. He is responsible for the overall management and strategic development of the company. Mr. Davis has a diversified and entrepreneurial background with experience in real estate, finance and residential [multi-family] development projects. He serves on the board of several corporations and envisions the continuing development of DAVACO as the category leader providing unsurpassed retail services and technology support.
Gerry Geddis is President and Chief Operating Officer for DAVACO entities. Mr. Geddis is responsible for developing vertical integration strategies, business processes and customer relations programs to enhance the company's existing growth and service capabilities. Prior to joining DAVACO, Mr. Geddis served as Worldwide President and COO of Blockbuster Entertainment. In his nine years with Blockbuster, Mr. Geddis served in various management roles including Senior Vice President — Domestic Video/International Video, Senior Vice President — European Operations, and Regional Vice President — Blockbuster Company & Franchise Stores/Central America. His responsibilities included overseeing 5,000 retail stores, developing and launching co-branded relationships, introducing new product lines, planning and execution of key marketing and partner programs, leading domestic and new in-store initiatives, and developing international divisions in Europe, Australia, Asia, Canada and Mexico/South America. He spent the first 17 years of his career with Tandy Corporation/Radio Shack working through all levels of field management. Most recently, Mr. Geddis was co-founder of Gerald Stevens Inc., a start-up flower and gift registry. He was responsible for building a national organization of more than 300 stores in 34 markets, growing revenues to $300 million in just three years.
Lamar Roberts joined DAVACO in 1998 as Chief Financial Officer. With 17 years of accounting and financial experience, Mr. Roberts is responsible for all financial aspects of the company including management of the accounting and payroll departments. Prior to employment with DAVACO, Roberts was the CFO for Amber's Stores, a 39-unit chain that generated revenues of up to $65 million. He also assisted in the company's IPO. Mr. Roberts worked in public accounting for nine years, most recently as an audit manager in the Entrepreneurial Services Group of Ernst & Young. There he was responsible for retail store accounts including Michaels, CompUSA and A Pea in the Pod. Roberts earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Hamer has been with DAVACO since 1989 and is the Executive Vice President of Sales responsible for all sales and strategic development. Originally hired as a construction superintendent, he has become well-versed in all areas of the business and retail industry. Prior to his present position, Mr. Hamer served as the National Sales Director and the Northeast Regional Director for DAVACO. Before joining DAVACO, he worked as a general contractor for five years and was an assistant professor of printmaking, instructing graduate and undergraduate courses at The Rhode Island School of Design. Mr. Hamer is a graduate of Vanderbilt University in Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He also received an MFA in printmaking from The Rhode Island School of Design.
